Sydney-based improviser-composer duo Mind On Fire announce the release of their new album Still, vol. 2, released on Radial Sound.

Mind On Fire is the collaborative project of brothers Brad Gill (vibraphone & percussion) and Sam Gill (saxophones). Since forming in 2017, they have developed a unique approach to blending improvisation and experimental composition, amassing a substantial body of work for duo and expanded formations. On Still, vol. 2, the duo are joined by two esteemed guest performers: Tina Stefanou on vocals and Nick Mielczarek on guitar.

Still, vol. 2 documents three extended works created by Mind On Fire between 2019-21. The album showcases the pair reveling in new sonic possibilities, with the addition of a wide array of percussion alongside Brad’s vibraphone, Sam’s first recorded performance on sopranino saxophone, as well as the first appearance of guitar or voice within their music. Within this expanded sonic world, they present some of their most adventurous and high-energy music yet.
